Although she’ll probably never pick up a scalpel or develop a new pharmaceutical for fighting disease, Rachel Rohland hopes to use the skills that she is developing at Elizabethtown College to help people improve their health.
In Senior Seminar this year, Rachel – who is an active volunteer with Relay for Life and other community service activities at the College – is working with Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on the launch campaign for its new Spine Center, a one-stop shop for patients with back and spine issues. During her project, Rachel has seen the powerful impact that effective communications can have on raising public awareness of health issues and motivating people to seek treatment.
