Welcome to the Diversity Team at Elizabethtown College!
Greetings from the Office of Admissions Diversity Team!
The Diversity Team is comprised of a group of Elizabethtown College students who have an interest in increasing cultural diversity on the campus of Elizabethtown College. These students come from a variety of ethnic, cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds and epitomize “Diversity” in every sense of the definition. They, however, share a common goal that is not only consistent with one of Elizabethtown College’s signature attribute that recognizes the value of international and cross-cultural perspectives - they seek to enrich the campus community with a diverse student body.
William Harvey (1989) once said, “The function of colleges and universities goes beyond providing students with the necessary cognitive skills to allow them to pursue their chosen career. The arena of higher education provides an important stage on which the perspectives of many of the next generation of leaders are shaped and developed.” The inclusion and critical examination of diversity on college and university campuses supports the need for students to develop and examine a healthy concept of self and others.
The Diversity Team, as a component of the Office of Admissions, primary focus is to assist in the recruitment efforts of prospective students of color. The Diversity Team will provide an opportunity to serve as a resource of information and share their own unique experiences as students of color on the campus of Elizabethtown College.
