Sunday, October 25, 2009 -- CROP Walk:

Interested in taking a walk on a Sunday afternoon while helping to fight world hunger?  All students and staff are invited to join the Elizabethtown community’s annual CROP WALK on Sunday, October 25 at 1:30 PM. CROP stands for "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty"-- neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.  Funds raised for this Walk go toward international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting.  In fact, 25% of all proceeds go to the Elizabethtown community food bank.   The Chaplain’s Office is sponsoring participation in this event and is seeking both walkers and people who will be sponsors of walkers (even if you cannot walk and would like to sponsor a walker).  Either way, please contact Karen Hodges, Coordinator of Religious Life Programs, at HODGESK or x1260.

Monday, November 9, 2009 -- Model Love Feast

All interested members of the campus community are invited to a Model Love Feast from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Young Center.

The Church of the Brethren Love Feast, in contrast to other Love Feasts (such as the Moravian Love Feast), includes three parts: washing the others' feet as a symbol of willingness to serve the world, the agape meal as a symbol of community, and the service of holy communion. You may actually participate in the Model Love Feast, or you are welcome to attend only as an observer.
Leading the service will be College Chaplain Tracy Wenger Sadd, and two pastors from Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, Greg Davidson Laszakovits and Pam Reist.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Karen Hodges, Coordinator of Religious Life Programs, at ext. 1260 or hodgesk@etown.edu.
