ECTV-40
ECTV is a 24-hour leased access cable station owned and operated by the Department of Communications of Elizabethtown College, located on the second floor of the Steinman Center. ECTV serves approximately 25,000 viewers in Elizabethtown and the surrounding communities. ECTV has a dual purpose: to provide information and entertainment to the students of Elizabethtown College and the people living in the surrounding communities; and to act a as functional and critical learning environment for the Communications majors of the College. Student staff members produce and direct original in-studio productions as well as gain experience with remote videography. ECTV uses remote production equipment for out of studio productions. The remote equipment includes three Sony video cameras, rugged transportable video and audio equipment racks and commentator equipment. All equipment is transported in a van that is rented out from the college.
The business office space serves as the planning and operational area for the 11-member student staff of the college's 24-hour student-run leased access cable channel. All ECTV original programs are student produced, and the station is operated by a student Board of Directors, in conjunction with a faculty advisor, the Department's Director of Broadcasting.
ECTV is also affiliated with The College Television Network and other affiliates, which provide news and programming for the station.
ECTV-40 serves approximately 25,000 cable subscribers in the Elizabethtown and surrounding communities.
