The Conestogan
Yearbook is staffed with a diverse group of motivated students. Members
work on everything from design and layout of the book, to copy editing,
picture selection, reporting and writing. Also, staff work together to
create pages to coincide with the theme. They decide what goes into
their section, and produce pages to reflect these decisions. Staff
positions are always available for editors, writers, and photographers.
An organizational meeting takes place each semester. In addition, we
have a weekly board meeting to keep one another posted on current
events and book deadlines. Our office is located on the second floor of
the Student Center. Production of the
Conestogan integrates journalism, photography, design, and business
administration. Background in any of these fields is not necessary for
involvement, as our staff attends workshops, learns from one another,
and becomes more than proficient in their realm of production once
brought into the organization.
The Editorial
Board consists of the Editor(s)-in-Chief, Business/Marketing/Operations director, Section Editors, Writers and
Assistants, a Copy Editor(s), as well as a Photography Editor and its
select staff. The Editor(s)-in-Chief responsibilities include, but are
not limited to the overall physical completion of the book with the
highest degree of quality, as well as overseeing other employees and
ensuring each individual's duty is carried out in full. Furthermore,
this position leads recruitment opportunities. Inversely, the Business director
controls the organization's financial status, marketing affairs, and
oversees day-to-day operations. As well, the role is in charge of
ordering, payments, public relations, and other external transactions. |
