PRAXIS

The PPST tests can be taken as a computer test on a date chosen by the test taker. Information on test locations and information on how to register is available in the Education Office.

Following is information on a suggested order for taking the exams. Freshman are encouraged to take PPST tests as soon as a decision is made to declare Education as a major. Sophomores must successfully complete the PPST tests by mid-March in order to be fully accepted into their certification program. Subsequent tests should be taken after Methods Block for Early Childhood, Elementary/Middle Level Education majors or upper level courses in the content area for Secondary Education majors are completed. Seniors also need to schedule their remaining tests no later than mid-April if they wish to receive certification just after graduation.

In order to get the test location of first choice, it is imperative that registration materials be submitted well before the due date.

Praxis II tests are a requirement for Pennsylvania certification. Completion of the first three tests is a requirement for entering and remaining in the college certification program. Be sure to list Elizabethtown College (the code to use is #2225) as a score report recipient.
