Elizabethtown College will be participating in the 2009 RecycleMania Competition!

The main goal of this event is to increase student awareness of campus recycling.  All participating schools are required to report measurements on a weekly basis in pounds. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to recycle the following products:

  • Commingled Recyclable Materials (Red containers with green stickers)
    • All Glass Containers
    • #1 through #7 Plastic Containers
    • Aluminum Cans
    • Metal Cans
  • Paper (Blue containers with blue stickers)
    • Newspaper
    • Computer Paper
    • Books
    • Magazines
    • Light Cardboard
  • Cardboard

Recycling containers are locating in each building on campus.  Typically red containers are for commingled recyclables and blue containers are for paper recycling.  All recycling containers are labeled with stickers that explain what can be placed in the container.

Please do not place trash in recycling containers!  If trash is found in recycling containers, the entire container is considered contaminated and must be treated as trash.

The Recyclemania competition involves commingled materials and paper, but Elizabethtown College recycles many other materials.  For a full list of materials that the College recycles,
