The following scholarship information has been provided to our office by the agencies granting these awards. Contained here are brief descriptions of these various awards. For complete details or applications, please contact either the Financial Aid Office or the organization offering the scholarship!


Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship:

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to offer financial assistance to students. They will be awarding scholarships of up to $1,000. Students will submit an essay on one of two topics that appear on the scholarship page of their website. Click HERE for details! The application deadline is June 20, 2008.  



AES Engineers Scholarship:

AES Engineers is pleased to provide $500 scholarships to high school seniors or college students at a post-secondary school taking Engineering courses. Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the two questions that appear on the AES Engineering Solutions website. Click HERE for details! AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students:

This scholarship program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Scholarships are awarded each July for the following school year.

Undergraduate Students Must Be:
A declared accounting major with an overall and accounting grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.3 on a four point scale.
A minority student who has satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours, or 45 quarter hours, equivalent college work including at least six (6) semester hours in accounting.
Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours or equivalent) unless you are completing your final semester of study, at a four-year or upper division institution. Students who will be attending a four-year school for the first time must include an acceptance letter from the school.

Graduate Students Must Be:
A minority student who is enrolled in the final year of a five-year accounting program or an undergraduate accounting major who is presently accepted or enrolled in a master-level accounting; business administration, finance or taxation program, or who had any undergraduate major and is presently accepted in a master-level accounting program. Enrolled as a full-time graduate student (nine semester hours or equivalent), unless you are completing your final semester of study.

AICPA/Accountemps:

Accountemps and the AICPA is offering five $2,500 scholarships to AICPA student affiliate members. A student must be enrolled iin an undergraduate or graduate program pursuing studies in accounting, finance or information systems to qualify. The scholarship deadline is May 1, 2008. To download an application click HERE!



Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship:

Alpha Delta Kappa international sorority for woman educators is offering a $500 scholarship to a female college student who plans to pursue education as her career. The applicant should be an education major who has completed at least one year of college by February 1, 2008. The award will be based on academic achievement, financial need and involvement in college and community activities. American Chemical Society Scholarship:

The American Chemical Society will award 100 scholarships to undergraduate students interested in four-year degrees in the chemical sciences. The scholarship is valued up to $2500 per academic year for freshmen, up to $3000 per academic year for sophomores and up to $5000 per academic year for juniors and seniors. To qualify, candidates must be African American, Hispanic/Latino or American Indian; a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.; a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or better in chemistry or science; demonstrate financial need; a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology. Army Emergency Relief Scholarship Programs:

It is Army Emergency Relief's (AER) objective to ensure all Army families, active, retired and survivor, are made aware of the scholarship opportunities available for spouse and dependent children of soldiers. Scholarships are available for eligible Army family members who will be attending post secondary schools in the 2008-2009 academic year. Completed applications with supporting documentation must be submitted on or before the postmark deadline of March 1, 2008. The 2008-2009 Student Aid Report (SAR) must be postmarked not later than May 1, 2008. To apply online or download an application click HERE! 


 Beverly J. Smith Memorial Scholarship:

The Harrisburg Branch of the American Association of
University Women is awarding two scholarships. The following criteria is necessary to qualify (1) full-time student in both the Spring and Fall 2008 terms (2) female who has completed at least 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree by the end of May 2008 (3) permanent resident of Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry County (4) have at least a 3.4 GPA and (5) demonstrate financial need. The Blue Spruce Foundation, Inc.:

The Blue Spruce Foundation's mission is to assist college students with emergency, temporary, unexpected educational expenses, which, if not met, may jeopardize future enrollment. Only (a) attending college or (b) students attending college within Berks county are eligible to receive assistance. Directs requests for financial assistance may be made to: Lin R. Buxmont Chapter of the
Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants:
  

 The Buxmont Chapter of the PSPA is sponsoring four $2,000 scholarships. The following criteria is necessary to qualify: (1) permanent resident address must be in Bucks or Montgomery county, PA (2) full-time accounting major entering their Junior or Senior year in Fall 2008 (3) "B" or better cumulative and accounting major GPA (4) brief essay of 150 words explaining why you chose accounting as your profession (5) letter of recommendation from an accounting instructor. Central Chapter of the
Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants:
  

The Central Chapter of the PSPA is offering a $2,000 scholarship. The following criteria is necessary to qualify: (1) permanent resident of Berks, Lebanon, Lancaster, Schuyllkill or Chester County, PA (2) full-time accounting major entering  Junior or Senior year in the Fall of 2008. Application deadline is November 1, 2008. Embracing Global Women Scholarships:       
       

The non-profit organization Embracing Global Women (EGW) is currently accepting nominations for its 2008 scholarships.  Scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to two current undergraduate females.  The recipients will be residents of Pennsylvania or students attending college in Pennsylvania during spring 2008.

The scholarships will be awarded on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Fifth Annual Celebration of Global Women at the Whitaker Center-Sunoco Theater.

EGW was organized in 2000 to educate, promote cultural awareness and to contribute to American history through the eyes of women.  The Celebration occurs during March, National Women’s History Month.  Each year, the Celebration has unique theme and the 2006 theme is “Women and Wealth”. Consistent with the theme, preference will be given to nominees who are involved in women's studies, cultural studies, international, finance or business.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program:


The Gates Millennium Scholars Program is available to graduating high school seniors. The grant will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American and who possesses a record of outstanding achievements. The student be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. Filing date for online applications is January 14, 2008. Apply online click HERE!.



Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship:

The Gilman International Scholarship is open to all U.S. undergraduates, in good academic standing, who meet the following criteria: Pell Grant recipient at the time of application, applying to or has been accepted into a study abroad program eligible for credit by the student's institution of higher education in the U.S., studying abroad for at least four weeks in one country, studying abroad in a country not currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba. The  applicant must study abroad on a program that begins between July 15, 2008 and October 15, 2008, which is the Fall 2008 cycle. January term applicants should apply during the Spring 2009 cycle.  The John Gyles Education Fund:

The John Gyles Education Fund provides financial assistance to full-time students who are full citizens of either Canada or the United States for all areas of post-secondary study. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required. Criteria other than strictly academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process. Selected students will receive up to $3,000. Filing date for mailing applications June 1. Applications are available online HERE.



The Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRET):

The Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRET), an affiliate of the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), will provide grants (minimum $2,000 each to one or more applicants) to selected students who are enrolled in the following programs: graduate study in Allied Health Profession; junior or senior year undergraduate study in hospital or healthcare administration, public administration, Nursing or other Allied Health Profession. Applicants must be a New Jersey resident accepted in a graduate or undergraduate program who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need with a FAFSA document. Applicants must provide a two-page essay letter detailing academic plans for the future and substantiating the eligibility requirements have been met, provide a letter of recommendation from the head of the program or current supervisor, provide an official transcript, a FAFSA application and current address, phone number and email address. Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg:

The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg is accepting applications for at least ten $1,000 scholarships for students of the 2008-2009 school year. Applicants must be employees or dependents of employees of HBA member firms or individuals who are pursuing an educational program in construction related fields. Applications are available from Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg, 2416 Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110 (717) 232-5595. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2008.



The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA):

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is offering scholarships to accounting and finance students. An IMA student member pursuing study in accounting or finance as an undergraduate or graduate is eligible for the Memorial Education Fund (MEF) Scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 and for the Stuart Cameron and Margaret McCloud Memorial (SCMS) Scholarhip in the amount of $5,000. Applications are available on the IMA website at www.imanet.org/scholarships. The deadline for receipt of all application materials is February 15, 2008.


Dudley Kramer Memorial Scholarship:

The Dudley & Sylvia Kramer Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually by The Arc of York County. To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be: (1) a resident of York county, PA (2) currently engaged in an educational pursuit with a goal of working with persons with mental retardation or currently working with persons with mental retardation (3) showing demonstrated financial need for tuition assistance. A scholarship of up to $750 will be awarded in August 2008. Applications are available at the Financial Aid Office. The application deadline is June 6, 2008.


David A Long Scholarship: 

The David A. Long Scholarship is offered by The American Water Works Association (AWWA) a nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to the improvement of drinking water quality and supply. To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must: (1) have completed one semester of the college junior year or be a college senior (2) pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, business administration or other field which may lead to a career in the water supply industry, and (3) attend a Pennsylvania College or maintain a permanent residence in Pennsylvania. The scholarship is $2,000. Application deadline is February 1, 2008. Information can be obtained by contacting Don Hershey, PA Section AWWA. The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation: 

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships. To qualify you must be the son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the reserve, retired or deceased; the son or daughter of a Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge or who was killed while in the service of our country, or the son or daughter of an active duty, reserve or former U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served with the U.S. Marine Corp.  Applicants must be high school seniors or high school graduates currently enrolled in college with a family income of $65,000 or less.  Scholarship range anually from $1,000 to $10,000. "Heros Tribute Scholarships" (of up to $20,000 over four years) are given to the children of Marines and the children of Navy Corpsmen serving with the Marines whose parent is killed in the ongoing Global War on Terror. Current scholarship recipients must reapply each yeaer and are limited to a total of four awards. The application deadline is March 3, 2008 for high school seniors graduating in 2008 and April 15, 2008 for all other applicants (anyone entering their second or subsequent year of post-high-school education, whether or not the applicant has previously applied for the scholarship). George E. and Dolly L. Martz Educational Scholarship Fund:


The George E. and Dolly L. Martz Educational Scholarship Fund is offering a scholarship to students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement, who are citizens of the United States and are pursuing undergraduate studies at an accredited four year college or university. Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need in order to continue their studies. Preference will be given to applicants whose parents fall in the middle or low income brackets.  Applications are available at the Financial Aid Office. The application deadline is May 15th. MONTCO PSEA - Retired Scholarship:

MONTCO PSEA - Retired is again sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship for a Junior or Senior enrolled in a course of study leading to a career in public education. The successful applicant must be a graduate of a Montgomery County public high school, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be enrolled as a junior or senior this coming September. Program studies must be leading to a certification in public education. More information will be available in the Financial Aid Office after January 2007.



National Federation of the Blind (NFB)

The NFB is an organization that offers thirty national scholarships annually ranging from $3,000 to $12,000. Application deadline is March 31, 2008.

The NFB of PA offers two scholarships - each in the amount of $1,000. The NFB of PA also sponsors student and parent divisions that serve informational, advocacy, support, and networking functions. Application deadline is August 1, 2007

Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business Scholarship:

The Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business Scholarship Board proudly announces the availability of its fourth annual scholarship for the next generation of women business leaders in Pennsylvania communities. The fund, created and supported by the past Best 50 Women in Business award recipients, will serve as a means of extending support to PA’s future businesswomen.

All applications must be postmarked no later than April 18, 2008. The scholarship will be awarded May 19, 2008.



Presidential Forum on Renewable Energy:

The Presidential Forum on Renewable Energy is sponsoring a nationwide college student essay contest in which three college students will be named and awarded a $10,000 educational prize. The contest will engage college students in the issues of renewable energy, sustainability and conservation. The contest is open to students who, as of January 1, 2008, are between the ages of 18 and 24; enrolled, full time or part time, in an undergraduate college program; and a citizen of the United States.  The prizes will be paid to the students, in a lump sum, on or after May 1, 2008. Hope Scholarship & Lifetime Learning Tax Credits:

The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 created several new tax benefits for families who are saving for, or already paying for, higher education. Two of the most commonly used benefits are the tax credits: Hope Scholarship & Lifetime Learning. Please read about TAX CREDITS for a guide to understanding these benefits.

PHEAA NETS Scholarship (Sci-Tech):

Tom Ridge and the General Assembly established the SciTech Scholarship and Technology Scholarship to prepare Pennsylvania students to succeed in the new, technology-based economy of the 21st Century, and to stem the migration of Pennsylvania's young people to other states. These scholarships also address the critical need to educate and retain a workforce of highly trained technology experts to help Pennsylvania attract and support new employers. SciTech Scholarships provide up to $3,000 per year to students who are at least sophomores enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor's degree in an approved science or technology field at an approved Pennsylvania public or private college. The SciTech Scholarship has GPA, internship, and work requirements that, if not satisfied, will cause the scholarship to convert to a loan so READ ALL THE DETAILS BEFORE APPLYING FOR THIS PROGRAM.
