Post-Graduate Activities, 1992-2002
Following graduation, Elizabethtown political
science students find jobs and/or attend graduate school or law school.
Surveyed eight months after graduation by the Office of Counseling
Services, more than 90% of political science graduates report each year
that they found employment and/or were attending graduate or law
school. Around 35-40% of political science students attend graduate or
professional school as full-time or part-time students in the first
year after graduation, compared to a range of 20-25% of Elizabethtown
graduates in the 1992-2002 period.
In the last ten years, Georgetown, University of North
Carolina-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Washington and Lee, Dickinson-Penn
State, Syracuse, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Boston University, Dayton and
Widener are among the law schools that accepted Elizabethtown political
science graduates. Graduate schools that our graduates have attended
include the University of Rochester, University of Colorado-Denver,
Pitt, Virginia Tech, and the New School for Social Research. Most of
the graduate students are or were pursuing master's degrees in public
policy, public administration or student development.
