Gene Behrens, associate professor in music therapy
Since coming to Elizabethtown College six years ago, Associate Professor in Music Therapy Gene Behrens has taught the majority of the music therapy courses and supervised students in the on-campus clinic. As a board-certified music therapist, she also has worked as a music therapist for more than 27 years in a variety of settings.
Behrens earned a B.M., M.A. and doctoral degree at Michigan State University, Kent State University and University of Kansas, respectively. She has published in several journals and is an active presenter at regional, national and international conferences. She maintains an avid interest in clinical training and supervision, curriculum development, research methods and research pertaining to emotional meaning in music.
