Kids rule at Elizabethtown College recital
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Children are the guests of honor at Elizabethtown College’s Open Door Recital, sponsored by the College’s music therapy program. The April 9 event, which will begin at 11 a.m., will provide an opportunity for young audience members to enjoy a concert without having to remain quiet and in their seats. Free tickets for the recital are available at 717-361-1991.
"This concert was designed to be interactive and to meet the interests of all children," said Associate Professor of Music Gene Ann Behrens. "We wanted to provide a venue for children with and without disabilities to enjoy the musical talents of our students without the constraints of being quiet and still. The doors to the recital hall will remain open for children and parents to temporarily leave and return as needed, and we expect to hear expressions of joy."
The children will also be given an opportunity to meet the performers at a reception following the recital. More information is available by contacting Behrens at 717-361-1991 or behrenga@etown.edu.
