Elizabethtown College music professor, pianist to perform

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Elizabethtown College professor and pianist Hiu-Wah Au will present a concert at 7:30 p.m., April 14, in Zug Recital Hall. The event, part of the Monday Series, is open to the public free of charge.

The program will include Bach’s “Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D Minor,” Prokofiev’s “Piano Sonata No. 3 in A Minor” and Beethoven’s “Piano Sonata in G Major, Opus 31/1.”

Hiu-Wah Au holds the Master of Music degree in piano performance and literature and a doctorate in music theory from the Eastman School of Music. A specialist in Schenkerian theory, she has presented papers on Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms at professional music theory conferences. Au is also active as a performer, with a special love for the piano works of Brahms. She has been an assistant professor of music at Elizabethtown College since 2002.
