Graduation
To ensure a smooth transition through the graduation process, please review all the information listed on this page as it contains important information regarding deadlines and documents required to successfully graduate and complete your degree.
Credit Requirements: To receive a Bachelors of Arts, Bachelors of Science, or a Bachelors of Music degree from Elizabethtown College, the student must earn a minimum of 125 credits (127 if MA011 is completed).
Program Requirements: Students are required to successfully complete all requirements of the major and the Core Program. The College does not guarantee graduation to any student who is unable to cmoplete requirements of a specific program or academic major.
Grade Point Average: To be eligible for graduation, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00, with a minimum average of 2.00 in a major (and a 2.00 in a minor, if the minor is to be recorded on the student's transcript).
Residency Requirement: To meet graduation requirements, the student must earn on-campus credits as follows: (1) a minimum of 16 credits in the major, at least eight of which are at the 300- 400 level and (2) at least 30 of the last 60 credits must be completed on campus. To recognize completion of a minor on the transcript , a student must complete at least eight credits of the requirements on-campus.
Other Requirements: Graduation requirments are governed by the College Catalog dated four years prior to graduation or, for major or minor requirements, by the College Catalog in effect at the time of graduation, if the student so chooses. The only excption to this policy is when a student has been continuosly enrolled for more than four years.
Tickets for the May Graduation: Commencement tickets will be available in Registration and Records on the the first day of May each calendar year. A student MUST present their ID to pick up the tickets. Each graduate is entitled to 3 tickets, no exceptions. The tickets are only necessary if the ceremony is held indoors due to inclimate weather.
