General Transfer Information
Elizabethtown College welcomes transfer students from regionally accredited institutions. An early inquiry about the transfer program can help you to maximize your educational experience. Below is information to make a smooth transition.
Regional accrediting agencies are as follows: New England Association of Schools and Colleges; Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges; and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Students who attend non-regionally accredited institutions may submit their transcripts, course syllabi and/or texts for a course by course evaluation. However, there is no guarantee that transfer credit will be awarded.
Although transfer students may begin their studies at Elizabethtown College in August, January or May, potential transfer students are encouraged to submit their applications to the Admissions Office as early as possible.
Official transcripts from each previously attended institution must be sent to the Admissions Office. If you are currently enrolled in classes, include a list of these courses which states the course number, course title and number of credits. Upon receipt of all materials as requested by the Admissions Office, an evaluation will be prepared. Potential transfer students will receive written notification specifying which courses/credits will be accepted by Elizabethtown College and how these courses apply to the intended major.
The College transfers credits (but not grades or quality points) for course work in which a grade of "C-" or better is obtained. Students must be matriculated and actively enrolled in a degree program at Elizabethtown College to have the transfer credits posted to their permanent record card.
