Why would I want to live on an LLC floor instead of a "regular" dorm?
The LLC floors are in a "regular dorm". The community is housed in Founders Hall, which is one of the more popular residence halls on campus. It is a co-ed building that houses freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. There are two floors that are set aside for students enrolled in the three courses in the first year student wing.
Basically, living in an LLC is a way to get the best of both worlds. You will have the opportunity to:
- Get the freshman dorm experience of having a roommate and getting to know other students on your floor and in the rest of the building
- Network with faculty and staff
- Participate in a wide range of great programs that are available only to students in the LLC
- Form more meaningful relationships with your classmates and faculty.
Does living on an LLC limit your interaction to only Honors students or students in your freshman seminar class?
Not at all! As a first semester student you will be taking 2-3 classes outside of the First Year seminar class. You will also be able to participate in building wide programming sponsored by the RA staff and the Campus Residence Association. Opportunities to meet people are endless. There are many different types of clubs, activities looking for new members.
