Sociology is the scientific study of the process and structure of social interaction, intergroup relationships, and the impact of social groups on individual behavior. Anthropology systematically studies humans as social and cultural beings, as well as biological organisms. Its global perspective is cross-cultural and includes all historical periods.
The programs of this department provide for the study of interpersonal and intergroup relationships and the growth, changes, structures, and processes of human society. The courses, reflecting the philosophical tradition of Elizabethtown College, are designed to prepare students for service and leadership in a complex society.
