Head Coach: Randall Kreider
The 2009 season will be the eighth as head coach for Randall Kreider, who has built the Elizabethtown College volleyball program into a perennial contender at the conference and regional level.
Kreider's success has been recognized by his peers, as he was named Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. The 2007 team finished with a 32-7 record, the most wins in a season for a Blue Jay squad since 1988.
In addition to being the head coach of the volleyball program, Kreider also serves the College as the System and Network Administrator for Elizabethtown's Information and Technology Services department.
Prior to his arrival at Etown, Kreider alternately served as the head coach of the Ephrata Rec Volleyball Club's 15's and 16's teams. His 2001 15's team won the KRVA Regional Tournament and earned a bid to the USA Volleyball Nationals.
Kreider has played at the "A" level in the USA Volleyball
Association and the KRVA. A 1994 graduate of Gettysburg College with a
major in computer science, he served as the co-captain, president and
vice president of the Gettysburg College Intercollegiate Men's Club
Team. At Cocalico High School in Denver, Pa., he was a member of the
state final four, District III runner-up, and Lancaster-Lebanon League
champion 1990 boys' volleyball team.
Within the sport, Kreider received his USA Volleyball IMPACT Coaching Certification in 2000, and has been the Commonwealth Conference representative to the AVCA Division III Head Coaches Committee since 2005. He is a member of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional advisory committee (since 2007) and is chair of the MASCAC volleyball coaches committee.
He is a lifetime member of the PVCA and has membership in the KRVA and AVCA. He is also a certified lifeguard by the American Red Cross and is certified in CPR for adults, children and infants as well in first aid and AED.
His wife, Alison, has served as the assistant coach of the men's and women's swimming programs at Elizabethtown College since 1999, as well as an adjunct faculty member in the athletics department.
