While many incoming students have a major in mind or are almost certain what career they hope to pursue after graduation, you do not declare your major your first year at Elizabethtown College. So, breathe a sigh of relief and know you have some time to explore.

Your first year at Elizabethtown gives you plenty of options for exploration and numerous options for professional growth. You’ll dabble across disciplines in the First Year Seminar and in classes within our Core Program. You will be exposed to many subject areas, professors and classmates – in and out of the classroom.

Surprise Yourself!

It is not uncommon for a student to change majors, add a minor or even choose to double major. During your educational journey, you’ll never know how or when inspiration will strike! By joining clubs and teams, by participating in community service or studying abroad, or just getting to know your professors and new friends, you may surprise yourself!
