The Department of Biology at Elizabethtown College offers three majors, a minor, and participation in cooperative programs with professional schools and several of the College's interdisciplinary programs.

Our science complex opened in the fall 2007 with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities centered on the student research experience. Eight full-time faculty members take pride in their personal commitment to each student's success and are well known for their teaching and their research expertise. Small class sizes, hands-on laboratory experiences and fieldwork prepare you for the world beyond college.

3 degree options offer you a strong foundation in biological sciences and your area of interest:

  • Bachelor of Science in biology with concentrations available in biology, premedical, allied health and secondary education
  • Bachelor of Science in biotechnology
  • Bachelor of Science in environmental science

Hands-on Training with Modern Instrumentation

Located in the Lyet Wing of the Masters Center for Science, Math and Engineering, our department has nine teaching laboratories, 10 research laboratories and other specialized facilities. The entire building is equipped for both wireless and hardwired communications. Each lab is outfitted with a projection system and full computer, Internet and document cameras. There is a lounge area for student use.
