While academics are an important part of life at Elizabethtown College, students also are encouraged to explore other interests. Biology major Heather Peluso was glad to find that athletics also are a central part of campus life.
“I chose Elizabethtown College because of the friendly atmosphere, well-recognized biology department and the opportunity to join a collegiate softball team,” she said.
A well-rounded student, Heather participates in several campus programs, clubs and teams. She plays collegiate softball for the Elizabethtown Blue Jays, tutors and is a member of Tri Beta, the National Biological Honor Society. She is also minoring in Spanish. As a member of the Biology Department, Heather was surprised to find herself conducting research within her field. She enjoys it and says she is looking forward to more.
“I would recommend E-town because it has a strong Biology department, the food is great and the students and faculty are very friendly and helpful,” said Heather. “The professors are highly accessible outside of class and encourage outside-of-class interactions. “
Aside from the helpful professors and the opportunity to play softball, Heather also loves being a part of the community, as a whole.
“My favorite part about campus life is the comfortable environment and the small school atmosphere. I am familiar with a lot of people on campus when I walk to class or when I am in the Baugher Student Center,” she said.
