The Department of English at Elizabethtown College offers an English major, with concentrations in literature, professional writing and secondary education. We also offer an English minor and offer classes in a variety of Elizabethtown's Interdisciplinary Programs.

Bachelor of Arts in English

English majors can choose from three concentrations: literature, professional writing and secondary education. This gives our students a wide variety of options in their study of language, literature and workplace writing. Students cultivate their skills in critical thinking, oral and written communication, close reading of texts and the essentials of visual literacy.

Students from other disciplines find a minor in English furthers skills in written and oral communications, excellent preparation for careers of any kind.
