Pa. --- Elizabethtown split a home Commonwealth Conference doubleheader
with Juniata Saturday. Etown won the first game 12-0 and lost 4-1 in
the second game. Etown is now 9-5-1 overall and 5-1 in the Commonwealth
Conference, while Juniata is 12-8 overall and 6-3 in the conference. In the first game, Steve Luongo (Palm Coast, FL/Ridge, NJ) pitched
the full seven innings for Etown and allowed just three hits while
striking out five to improve to 3-0 on the season. At the plate, Luongo
hit 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in.
Catcher Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) went 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles, three runs batted in and one run scored. Right fielder Eric Guise (Bendersville, PA/Biglerville) went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI, and shortstop Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) also scored two runs while going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Third baseman Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) hit 1-for-4 with a triple, two runs batted in and one run scored. First baseman Bryan Torresani (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) hit 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. In
the second game, Juniata pitcher Corey Zong held Etown to just four
hits over seven innings. Guida went 1-for-3 with a double for Etown, as
did Ryan White (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest), who drove in Torresani for Etown's only run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rebert and Dean Whetham (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) both went 1-for-3 as well for Etown. Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 4-0 in the Commonwealth Conference
and 8-4-1 overall with an 8-2 road win in a single nine-inning game
against Juniata College Saturday. Juniata dropped to 11-7 overall and
5-2 in the conference with the loss. Etown pitcher Drew Kelley (York, PA/Dallastown) started
on the mound and went the full nine innings, allowing just two runs,
one earned run, two walks and seven hits. Kelley also struck out seven
batters en route to improving to 2-1 on the season. The
Blue Jays pounded out 12 hits against Juniata and benefited from six
Juniata errors. By contrast, Etown committed just one error on the
field. Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) cranked a home run, drove in four runs, scored two runs, and went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly at the plate. Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) went 4-for-6 at the plate, scored two runs and drove in one for Etown. Mike Donahue (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) hit 3-for-6 for Etown and scored one run. Etown will return to action Saturday, March 26 at noon when it hosts Juniata for a doubleheader of seven-inning conference games. Pa. --- Elizabethtown saw its winning streak end at seven games Tuesday
in a 10-5 home non-conference loss to The College of New Jersey. TCNJ
improves to 13-2 with the loss, while Etown drops to 7-4-1 overall. The
College of New Jersey scored one run in the second inning, four runs in
the third, three runs in the fourth, and one run in both the fifth and
sixth innings. Etown pitcher Matt Woehnker (Colts Neck, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) shut out TCNJ in the seventh and eighth innings, and Scott Beard (Willow Grove, PA/La Salle College H.S.) blanked the visiting Lions in the top of the ninth. Etown scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning as TCNJ committed three errors. Mike Donahue (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) reached base on an error and moved to second on another error. Donahue scored when a deep fly ball to left field by Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) was mishandled, a move that also enabled Rebert to advance to second base. Rebert moved up to third as Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) grounded out. A ground-out by Eric Guise (Bendersville, PA/Biglerville) drove Rebert home. Etown
added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Guida led off
with a double and was immediately driven home on a single by Guise, who
has now hit safely in eight consecutive games. Dean Whetham (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) followed with another single that sent Guise to third. Steve Luongo (Palm Coast, FL/Ridge, NJ) then doubled, driving home both Guise and Whetham in the process. Buskett got his first collegiate win on the mound for TCNJ as he pitched five innings without allowing a single earned run. Blake Bullis (Delran, NJ/Delran) went 3-for-5 for TCNJ with a home run, a double, three runs batted in and two runs scored. Andrew Cosgrove (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) scored three runs for TCNJ while batting 2-for-4. Donahue
was 2-for-5 with one run scored for Etown, and he was the only Blue Jay
to get more than one hit in the game. Luongo drove in two runs for
Etown while hitting 1-for-3 with a double, and Guise drove in a pair of
runs as well and scored a run while batting 1-for-4. Pa. --- Elizabethtown ran its winning streak to seven games Saturday
after sweeping Susquehanna 9-8 in eight innings and 11-0 in a
Commonwealth Conference doubleheader on the road. The Blue Jays are now
7-3-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while Susquehanna is 3-8
overall and 0-3 in the Conference. The first
game went into extra innings as Etown scored six runs in the top of the
first, Susquehanna scored twice in the bottom of the first and once
more in the bottom of the second, Etown added single runs in the top of
the fourth and fifth innings, and as Susquehanna rallied for five runs
to tie the score 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh. Etown scored one run
in the top of the eighth and held Susquehanna scoreless in the bottom
half of the inning to seal the win. Andy Mees (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) got the win in relief for Etown, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing one run and three hits while striking out one to get his first victory of the season. Seth Guida
(Reading, PA/Exeter) went 1-for-5 with a home run, one run scored and
three runs batted in for Etown. Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg)
hit 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, two runs scored and two runs

runs, one RBI and one double for Etown in the first game, and Dean

and one RBI. In the second game, Rebert got the win on the mound has he started and pitched six innings. He allowed four hits and two walks in that span while striking out four to improve to 1-2 on the season. Scott Beard (Willow Grove, PA/LaSalle College H.S.) pitched the final inning for Etown, walking one and striking out two. In that game, Whetham went 1-for-4 with three runs
batted in and a double. Steve Luongo (Palm Coast, FL/Ridge, NJ) hit
2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI. Eric Guise
(Bendersville, PA/Biglerville) hit 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI,
and Guida went 1-for-4 with two runs. Damien Jones (Mountain Top,
PA/Crestwood) hit 1-for-4 with a double, one run and one RBI, and Mike
Donahue (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) hit 3-for-4 with two runs and
one RBI. Brian Bonner (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) drove in a pair of runs while
hitting 1-for-3 for Etown, and Kalejta scored one run while going
1-for-4 at the plate. Etown will return to action at home Sunday, March 20 in a non-conference doubleheader against the University of Scranton at noon. Pa. --- Elizabethtown hosted Susquehanna University for a nine-inning
game in the Blue Jays' 2005 Commonwealth Conference and home opener,
and Etown pounded the visiting Crusaders 17-2 to improve to 5-3-1
overall. Susquehanna dropped to 3-5 with the loss. Etown
scored all 17 of its runs in the first four innings, scoring four in
the first inning, one in the second inning, four in the third inning,
and lit up the scoreboard for eight runs in the fourth inning.
Susquehanna tallied one run in the fifth inning and one more run in the
top of the ninth. Sophomore third baseman
Dean Whetham (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) went 4-for-4 with a double, a
walk, and one time hit by a pitch at the plate for Etown and scored two
runs and drove in two more. Sophomore outfielder Mike Donahue
(Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) went 2-for-4 with one time hit by a
pitch at the plate, and he hit a three-run triple, scored two runs, and
drove in a total of four. Senior catcher Seth Guida (Reading,
PA/Exeter) went 2-for-3 with a walk and one time hit by a pitch, and he
drove in one run and scored two more. Senior DH Adam Rebert
(Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) batted 2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI
and two runs, and sophomore DH Jared Morris (Brielle,
NJ/Manasquan) went 2-for-2 with one run. Junior first baseman Bryan

Senior center fielder Damien Jones (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) went

PIERCE, Fla. --- Elizabethtown wrapped up its annual spring break
training trip to Ft. Pierce, Florida Thursday with a 3-0 win over NCAA
Division II Davis & Elkins University. Drew Kelley (York, PA/Dallastown) pitched a complete-game shutout in the victory. No other details from the game are currently available. Etown
was also to have played Cedarville prior to its game against Davis
& Elkins, but the game against Cedarville was rained out. The Blue Jays went 4-1-1 in Florida and head back to Pennsylvania with a 4-3-1 overall record in 2005. PIERCE, Fla. --- Elizabethtown won its third game in a row and improved
to 3-3-1 overall Wednesday with a rain-shortened 4-2 win over Northland
College (WI) in Ft. Pierce, Fla. The Blue Jays are now 3-3-1 overall in
2005 and 3-1-1 in Florida. Pitcher Tyler Hoffman (Phoenix, MD/Loyola Blakefield) earned the win in the five inning game. Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) hit a three-run double for Etown, and Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) had two hits and two stolen bases. Complete results from the game are currently unavailable. Etown will face both NAIA member Cedarville University and NCAA Division II member Davis & Elkins University in its next games Thursday. training trip to Ft. Pierce, Fla., has gone 2-1-1 in five games over
its first three days there. The Blue Jays are now 2-3-1 overall in 2005. On
Sunday, Etown tied NCAA Division II Clarion University 2-2 and fell to
Bethany (WV) 6-1. No other details from those games are currently
available. On Monday, Etown defeated Penn State-Behrend 2-0 as Eric Guise (Bendersville, PA/Biglerville) hit a two-run double and Steve Luongo (Palm Coast, FL/Ridge, NJ) pitched a shutout. On Tuesday, the Blue Jays downed Pitt-Greensburg 10-3. Scott Beard (Willow Grove, PA/La Salle College H.S.) had a no-hitter going through 6-2/3 innings before surrendering a single. Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) had a triple and a home run for the Blue Jays, and Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) scored three runs and stole a pair of bases.
