Back to top 4/17/2008 Degree Audit Notification - Course Withdrawal Reporting Issue A recent upgrade to the Registration – Advising Module has resulted in reporting course withdrawals inaccurately on the degree audit. This issue only affects students that have a declared Major, Minor or Concentration that includes a course requirement that they elected to withdraw from during a given semester. At the moment, the degree audit will mark the course the student elected to withdraw from with a “(GRADE)” flag immediately following the course requirement code. This is simply a warning to you and your advisor concerning the course status. If you elected to REPEAT the course and you successfully completed the course, the degree audit continues to display the grade of “W” and the “(GRADE)” flag on the course rather than the repeated grade. The reported GPA’s on the degree audit are accurate despite the reporting of course withdrawals and repeats. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Back to top 3/19/2008 FALL 2008 Core Update Information SW 233 has not been renewed as a Social Science Core Offering Effective Fall 2008 SW 233 Human Behavior in the Social Environment ends its 3-year cycle as a core offering this semester and it will no longer fulfill the Social Science Core Area of Understanding effective impacting the Fall 2008 master schedules. If you completed this course between Fall 2005 and Spring 2008, the course will continue to satisfy the Social Science area of core. All materials relating to this core change are available on the Registration and Records office core web page. Please continue to visit the Registration Courses Available web page for up-to-date additions, corrections and cancellations that effect previously published master schedules.. ES113-Earth in Space is still a Lab Science course ES113 is still a lab science that includes: visits to the planetarium at F&M, evening stargazing sessions, field trips to local geological sites, and a variety of other discovery oriented activities that are accomplished without the need for a traditional laboratory session. In order to make scheduling of the class less difficult for students, it is now listed as including two hours of lab time each week that are arranged by the instructor in such a way that all enrolled students can satisfy the lab requirements. The new listing approach now reflects the way we have been handling the lab sessions for the past several years, so there is no change in the course structure just a less cumbersome approach to scheduling the lab activities. Any questions, contact Dr. Scanlin. Back to top 1/2/2008 On-Line Preliminary Check-In As one semester ends we begin planning for the next.
