ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Senior Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) tallied two goals and an assist as Elizabethtown College defeated Lebanon Valley College 5-1 in Commonwealth Conference women's soccer action on Thursday afternoon at Ira R. Herr Field.

Russo scored the game's first goal at 11:30 and capped the scoring at 46:43 as the Blue Jays (12-4-2 overall, 3-1-1 Commonwealth) scored four times into the wind in the first half en route to the win and a berth in next week's conference playoffs.

Senior Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored for the fifth straight game for the Blue Jays, while senior Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) and sophomore Elyse Carabello (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) also netted goals.

Russo opened the scoring as she put home a corner kick by sophomore Katelyn Roderick (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) at 11:30, and exactly seven minutes later Dotterer scored her team-high 13th goal of the year by depositing a cross from sophomore Mallory Murphy (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville).

Elizabethtown used a fortunate bounce to take a 3-0 lead at 26:49, as Russo's shot toward an open net was cleared off the line by a Lebanon Valley defender, only to carom off Geiger into the net for her first goal of the season.

The Dutchmen (9-7-2 overall, 2-4-0 Commonwealth) got on the board just under two minutes later at 28:44 as Christine Fraser converted a misplay into her third goal of the year.

The Blue Jays responded at 33:13 as Carabello scored her second goal of the season off a cross from sophomore Ellen Parr (Columbia, MD/Atholton) to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.

Russo closed the scoring just 1:43 into the second half as Dotterer's initial shot trickled away from the Dutchmen keeper, and she knocked the loose ball home for her seventh goal of the season.

Elizabethtown finished with a 21-7 advantage in shots and a 9-3 edge in corner kicks over Lebanon Valley.

Senior Angela Freeland (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) played just under 70 minutes in goal for the Blue Jays and made two saves, while Alyson Reitmeyer finished with six stops for the Dutchmen.
