SOTA Helps Schreiber "Morph" into A Butterfly

On October 25, 2008, members of Elizabethtown College's SOTA organization went to Schreiber Pediatrics to participate in the campus wide activity "Into the Streets". Students helped the staff members at Schreiber as they prepared for their upcoming sensory awareness week by decorating the hallways, creating pathways, and placing different objects throughout the path for the children to maneuver around as they made their way through the building. The focus of the task was to have each child go through the tunnels, over the different sized and textures of bags and around the outdoor gardens as if they were starting their adventure in a cocoon and by the end having become a grown butterfly. Each step of the process involved many sensory activities for the children. (Article from Angela Freeland, SOTA President)
