HAVERFORD, Pa. --- Megan Quinn (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) finished with 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds as Elizabethtown College picked up its fifth straight victory with a 59-53 win at Haverford College in non-conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

Megan Strohman (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) added 11 points and a season-high five rebounds off the bench for the Blue Jays (5-3 overall), whose five-game win streak is their longest since posting nine consecutive victories during the 2003-04 season.

Elizabethtown held on for the win despite going without a field goal for the final 8:18 of the game, scoring their final eight points from the foul line as the Fords (0-4 overall) used an 11-0 run to cut a 13-point deficit down to two.

Quinn, whose double-double was her fourth of the season, also tied a career high with three blocked shots for Elizabethtown, which took the lead for good late in the first half and held it despite finishing at 32.8 percent (20-for-61) from the field and 4-for-21 from three-point range.

Brittany Lattisaw led Haverford with 18 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out in the final minute, while Kathleen Abels hit four three-pointers and finished with 14 points along with six rebounds.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Blue Jays scored seven of the last nine points to go to halftime with a 33-26 lead. Quinn led the Blue Jays in the opening half with eight points while Lattisaw paced the Fords with 10 points and five rebounds.

Elizabethtown built its lead to double figures on several occasions in the second half, taking its largest lead of the day at 52-39 with 5:51 remaining. However, a layup by Lattisaw and three-pointers by Abels and Alejandra Alvarez brought the Fords to within 52-47 with 4:36 left.

After nearly three minutes of scoreless basketball, Abels connected on another three-pointer to trim the Elizabethtown deficit to 52-50 with 1:46 left. However, Teanna Ziegler (Telford, PA/Souderton) hit two foul shots with 1:23 to go to push the Blue Jay lead to 54-50, and Quinn and Strohman combined to go 5-for-6 from the line in the final 42 seconds to put the game away.

Haverford shot just 30 percent (18-for-60) from the field as a team, but kept the game close by going 6-for-17 from three-point range, including 5-for-14 in the second half. Elizabethtown missed all 10 of its three-point attempts in the second half, but went 10-for-12 from the foul line as a team.
