Back to top 2/28/2009 Men's track finishes second at MAC Championships ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD Elizabethtown at MAC Championships BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's indoor track and field team finished secoind at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships held at Lehigh University on Saturday. The Blue Jays won four events on the day and had 12 medal-winning performances to amass 109 points, just behind team champion Messiah College and one point ahead of third-place DeSales University (108 points). Junior Wyatt Eaton (York, PA/Eastern York) won the 200 meters with a time of 22.80 seconds, the second-best time in program history, and took second in both the 400 meters (50.96 seconds, third-best in school history) and the long jump (21 feet, 3 1/4 inches, sixth-best in school history). First-year student Eric Reichert (Hershey, PA/Hershey) was victorious in the mile run with a time of 4:18.94, while sophomore Rich Greco (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) took first in the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:32.47, the ninth-best time in school history. The Blue Jays' 4x400-meter relay team of junior Kyle Grimm (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove), first-year student Mark Weber (Tinton Falls, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy), senior Dylan Rulander (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) and Eaton crossed the line first in a time of 3:30.81. Rulander also finished second in the mile to Reichert with a time of 4:21.11, the fifth-best mark in program history, while in the mle sophomore Chris Heisey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) was third in 15:41.65, followed by senior Jeremy Matula (Bath, PA/Northampton) in fourth at 15:49.57 and first-year student Colby Miller (Oak Hill, VA/Flint Hill School) in fifth at 15:56.09. In the distance medley relay, the quartet of senior James Munnelly (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East), Grimm, Weber and first-year student Evan DeArmitt (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) finished second in a time of 10:44.13, while the 4x800-meter relay team of Munnelly, first-year student Casey McGarvey (Bozrah, CT/Norwich Free Academy), DeArmitt and Reichert crossed the line third in 8:19.72. Senior Phil Alder (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) was third in the pentathlon with 2,822 points, and took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet, 5 1/2 inches. Senior Jason Yurchak (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Regional) placed third in the pole vault with a best marak of 12 feet, 11 1/2 inches. Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Team scores: 1. Phil Alder, 2822 points Back to top 2/22/2009 Men's track in action at Susquehanna Open ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD Elizabethtown at Susquehanna Open SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's track and field team completed its final tuneup for next weekend's Middle Atlantic Conference indoor championships by participating at the Susquehanna Open on Saturday. First-year student Eric Reichert (Hershey, PA/Hershey) won the mile run with a time of 4:18.68, the fourth-best time in program history, while senior Dylan Rulander (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) took first in the 800 meters in a time of 1:55.31, also the fourth-best time in school history. Junior Wyatt Eaton (York, PA/Eastern York) took third in the 200 meters with a time of 23.04 seconds, the fifth-best mark in program history, and posted the fifth-best high jump in school history with a mark of 5 feet, 10 3/4 inches to finish in eighth place. In the 3,000 meters, senior Scott Derkacz (Huguenot, NY/Port Jervis) finished fifth with a time of 9:15.39, while senior James Munnelly (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) was seventh in the 800 meters in 2:00.76. Wyatt Eaton, 5-10 3/4 (1.80 meters) (5) Back to top 2/16/2009 Men's track competes at Dickinson Invitational ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD Elizabethtown at Dickinson Invitational CARLISLE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's indoor track and field team finished sixth out of 16 teams at the Dickinson College Valentine's Day Invitational on Saturday. Junior Wyatt Eaton (York, PA/Eastern York) led the Blue Jays by winning the 400 meters in 51.87 seconds, the fifth-best time in program history. He also finished sixth in the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches, and placed seventh in the 55 meters in 6.84 seconds after posting the sixth-best time in program history of 6.82 seconds in preliminaries. Sophomore Chris Heisey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) was fourth in the mile (4:33.87), followed by first-year student Evan DeArmitt (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) in fifth (4:36.85) and sophomore Rich Greco (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) in seventh place (4:37.59). Senior Jeremy Matula (Bath, PA/Northampton) finished sixth in the 3000 meters in a time of 9:08.90, while DeArmitt was sixth in the 800 meters in 2:05.57.
