Back to top 3/30/2009 Golf finishes fourth at York Invitational ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE GOLF Elizabethtown Finishes Fourth at York Invitational Click here for the tournament results YORK, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College opened its spring golf schedule with a fourth-place finish at the York College Spring Invitational, held Monday at the Out Door Country Club. The Blue Jays finished with a team score of 328 along with the host Spartans, but were nosed out for third place based on a comparison of the fifth-place players for each team. Messiah College finished first with a score of 318, with Marymount University second at 321. Senior Mike Wagner (Allentown, PA/William Allen) had the low round for the Blue Jays with a five-over-par 77, good enough for fifth place in the individual standings. Senior Maurice Rapp (Bangor, PA/Bangor) finished in a tie for ninth place with a round of 80, and sophomore Geoff Quinque (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) tied for 15th at 82. Corey Wenger of Messiah won the individual title with a 73, followed by Marymount's Thomas Donovan and Kevin Thomsen in a tie for second at 75, Matt Lukehart of Stevenson University at 76 and Wagner with a 77. At Out Door Country Club Team Scores: 1. Messiah 318; 2. Marymount 321; 3. York 328; 4. Elizabethtown 328; 5. Stevenson 329; 6. Philadelphia Biblical 340; 7. Penn State Harrisburg 342, 8.
