Students Working to Entertain E-town (S.W.E.E.T.) is the social programming branch of the Office of Student Activities. Each semester S.W.E.E.T. provides students with a variety of events to keep the student body entertained. Check out the list below...
For information about the upcoming events this semester please check the OSA Calendar of Events.
S.W.E.E.T is always looking to add new events. If you have any suggestions please stop by the Student Activities Hub and place your idea in the comment box. If you are interested in getting involved with S.W.E.E.T or if you have any questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
S.W.E.E.T. hosts approximately five dances each semester which run from midnight to 2am in the KAV. They feature a variety of student DJ's playing a mix of today's hottest jams. Admittance to all S.W.E.E.T. sponsored dances is FREE; however, students must present a valid Elizabethtown College ID or a current guest pass to enter.
S.W.E.E.T.'s interactive events provide students with the opportunity to get up and join in the fun as well as have the chance to win a variety of prizes. Every semester a myriad of game shows and tournaments such as Bingo, Casino Night, Don't Forget the Lyrics, Cornhole, Deal or No Deal, Minute to Win it, Family Feud and many more are offered.
S.W.E.E.T. shows seven pre-home releases each semester. Each movie is shown in Gibble Auditorium in the Esbenshade wing of the Masters Science Center and is FREE to the student body. Be sure to check the movie display case in the BSC for the next upcoming movie!
Movie show times are as follows: Friday 4pm, Saturday 7pm, Sunday 3pm.
Comedians, musicians, magicians, hypnotists, and dating specialists are just a few examples of the types of performers that have graced the stage at Elizabethtown. Some of our more recent acts have included Safety Suit, Five Times August, Beau Bristow, and Kevin Hurley.
When students have the urge to get out and explore the area they can take advantage of S.W.E.E.T.'s off campus trips. Each semester, transportation is provided to various locales in the Elizabethtown area such as Lancaster, Hershey and Harrisburg and destinations in the Mid Atlantic region such as New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Ocean City.
S.W.E.E.T. takes great pride in traditions. OSA's newest tradition, The Price is Right is held the first week of school during which students have the opportunity to come on down and be the next contestant for the opportunity to win thousands of dollars in prizes. In the spring S.W.E.E.T. hosts Mr. Etown the colleges all male beauty pageant in which a male representative from each dorm must coordinate a lip sync dance number for the entire student body to behold. S.W.E.E.T also hosts a Gingerbread House Contest before Christmas break where students have the chance to see who can make the "cutest house", the "most traditional house" or the house that is "most likely to fall over".
