My diverse life experiences brought me to higher education and the work that I do with students at Elizabethtown College. I find working with college students rewarding and enjoy the opportunities to learn with them and from them.

Educational Background:
M.A., College Student Development and Administration, Shepherd University, 2009
B.S., Political Science, Shepherd University, 2007
I was a resident assistant at Shepherd University for over two years, having worked with first year and upperclassmen students in traditional, suite, and apartment living. I was then a graduate hall director at Shepherd University for two years. I have worked with various departments including Counseling Services and the Vice-President for Student Affairs. I have also coordinated resident assistant recruitment and selection. I joined the Elizabethtown team in July as an Area Coordinator for Royer, Myer, and Schlosser residence halls. I decided to work in Student Affairs as I had a successful resident assistant experience, and found that I really enjoy working with college-age students. I am passionate about promoting out-of-the classroom learning experiences and being a non-traditional educator.

Educational Background:
M.S., Misericordia University, Organizational Management with a concentration in management, 2009B.S., Drexel University, General Studies with a specialization in Digital Media, 2007
I served as a Resident Assistant at Drexel University for three years with my final year serving as a Head Resident Assistant. Upon graduation, I spent a year working for the Office of Residential Living at Drexel as a Desk Service Representative. During my graduate work I served as a Resident Hall Director for two years. The first year I worked with first-year students in a traditional hall and my second year I worked with upper-class students in suite style and independent living units. Currently, I am the Area Coordinator who oversees Founders and Ober Halls. Outside of residence life I also volunteer for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity to help educate the members of the fraternity. I decided to pursue a career in Student Affairs because I wanted to offer the same positive undergraduate experience I had to others.

Educational background:

I was first exposed to the field of Student Affairs as a Summer Counselor for Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School where I served both as a Teaching Assistant and a Resident Assistant for high school-age students. During my Graduate Studies at Wilkes University, I was a Graduate Resident Director for two years and supervised the first-year population. I have coordinated the Resident Assistant Recruitment, Selection and Training, as well as advising a Resident Assistant Committee. On top of my Residence Life responsibilities, I also worked closely with numerous departments on campus including Student Activities, and the Community Service Center.
I joined the Elizabethtown staff in January, 2012 as the Area Coordinator for Brinser Hall, the Hackman Apartments and the Schreiber Quads. Outside of Residence Life, I am also strongly enthusiastic about Multicultural and Diversity Affairs.
Monae Kelsey
Coordinator of Mutlitcultural and Residential Programs

Throughout my graduate and undergraduate career there were three places I felt the most home at and they were Residence life, Student Affairs, and Multicultural Affairs. After dedicating years to the profession, it was no question that I should find my path allowing me to marriage the three into my newfound position as the Coordinator for Multicultural Programs and Residential Communities. I would say what I enjoy most and find to be mutual common-ground is the passion and love for developing students holistically. I have the opportunity to impact students when life can be at its most critical point. My overall goal is to help shape a community of inclusion and diversity amongst the campus community as well as within residential living.
