Communication Standards

To introduce and present Elizabethtown College as a selective, independent, residential coeducational institution , the perception of the College needs to be consistent in the minds of various audiences. Just as the logos and the colors tell a story about the College, so do the words we use to describe it. Effective and consistent use of the College name, as well as the campus buildings, programs and centers are central to establishing the College identity as we share our story with the world. In publication, Elizabethtown College follows Associated Press (AP) style. AP style carries definitive guidelines for word usage, capitalization and abbreviation. If you have questions about AP style contact the Office of Marketing and Communications at 717-361-1410.
