Offered through the Elizabethtown College School of Graduate and Professional Studies, and delivered in partnership with Lancaster EMS, this professional certificate program is designed for certified EMTs and AEMTs who want to advance their skills, expand their career opportunities, and make a greater impact during medical emergencies.

About the Professional Certificate in Paramedicine
The Professional Certificate in Paramedicine equips you with the advanced medical knowledge and hands-on training required to provide critical, front-line emergency care. As a paramedic, you play a vital role in public health and safety — delivering rapid assessment, life-saving interventions, and leadership during emergencies.
Our program combines classroom instruction, skills labs, and clinical/field experience led by highly qualified instructors, including experienced paramedics, registered nurses, and physicians. Through this comprehensive training model, you’ll gain the confidence and competence needed to excel in real-world emergency medical situations. Students who complete the certificate will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic Certification Exam and may receive the following certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- International Trauma Life Support
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support

The Professional Certificate in Paramedicine is priced at $7,950 for the entire program ($2,650/semester). Scholarships may be available to make your education even more affordable.

The Professional Certificate in Paramedicine includes 1,200 hours of classroom, clinical, and field experience. Classes run in a cohort model and are primarily held at Elizabethtown College, with clinical and field placement hours. Classes and labs typically meet three times weekly, with occasional weekend hours.

To be eligible to apply to the Professional Certificate in Paramedicine you will need to:
- Hold EMT or AEMT certification at admission.
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or undergraduate degree.
- Be 18 years of age by program completion.
