Instructions for applying for financial aid are separated into two sections according to type of student
Application Instructions for Traditional Day Students:
Beginning in January, the Financial Aid Office will mail financial aid application instructions to all students who have APPLIED to the College. You must be accepted to the College before any financial aid is awarded. You do not need to be accepted to the College to begin the process of applying for financial aid. For maximum consideration for need-based financial aid, apply by March 15, 2015.
We recommend using FAFSA on the Web. If you wish to use a paper FAFSA, a copy may be obtained from your high school guidance office.

Application Instructions for School of Continuing and Professional Studies Students:
A packet of the required financial aid forms is available through the Financial Aid Office or various Continuing and Professional Studies Offices. The deadline for priority financial aid consideration May 1st. For students not meeting the May 1st deadline, we strongly encourage you to apply at least ONE MONTH before your first class begins! You must be accepted to the College as a degree-seeking student before any financial aid is awarded. You do not need to be accepted to the College, however, to begin the process of APPLYING for financial aid.
2014-2015 school year: based on 2013 income
FAFSA (Submit at least ONE MONTH prior to start of first class. PHEAA Grant deadline is May 1st)
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We recommend using FAFSA on the Web. If you wish to use a paper FAFSA, contact our office. Elizabethtown's Federal School Code is 003262 .
RECOMMENDATION: Completing FAFSA on the Web is much more efficient and timely than completing a paper FAFSA - click on FAFSA on the Web to complete the form on-line! If you are going to use FAFSA on the Web, we strongly encourage you to apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) beforehand. The PIN serves as a student's electronic signature. Parents may also apply for a PIN to serve as their electronic signature. If the student and a parent both have a PIN, a Signature Page does not have to be sent into the federal government. You do NOT need a PIN to use FAFSA on the Web, but having a PIN will speed up the process. Students and parents may apply for a PIN online at www.pin.ed.gov.
Elizabethtown College Financial Aid Application (Submit at least ONE MONTH prior to start of classes)
This form may be picked up in the Continuing and Professional Studies or Financial Aid Office or mailed to you. This form should be returned to the Financial Aid Office at least ONE MONTH prior to start of classes to ensure maximum consideration for need-based aid from the various government programs. Make certain all sections are complete and that student (and parents if dependent) sign and date the forms prior to mailing.
Employer Educational Assistance Verification Form (Submit at least ONE MONTH prior to start of classes)
PHEAA requires all part-time students who are potential PHEAA Grant recipients to have their employers verify tuition reimbursement levels. Students are only eligible for PHEAA Grants to the extent that their tuition is not covered by tuition reimbursement. This form may be picked up in the Continuing Education or Financial Aid Office or mailed to you. After you and your employer complete the form, return it to the Financial Aid Office at least ONE MONTH prior to start of classes.
Federal Tax Information (Submit at least ONE MONTH prior to start of classes)
Student's (and parents' if dependent) signed & dated Federal income tax returns (attach all supporting schedules) must be submitted to our office. If a tax return is not filed, the student's signed & dated Non-Filers Statement on the Elizabethtown College Financial Aid Application must be completed (attach W-2 forms).
NOTE: If Federal tax returns have been misplaced, call 1-800-829-1040 to request a "tax transcript" (an electronic printout of your tax return). Allow two weeks for receipt.
After receiving all required forms and confirming your acceptance status with the Continuing and Professional Studies department, our office will calculate your financial aid eligibility within two weeks.
