Ranked consistently among the top institutions in the North by U.S. News and World Report, Elizabethtown College offers its 1900 students 53 majors and more than 80 minors and concentrations in the liberal arts, sciences and professional studies. A 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio and average class size of 25 provides students with meaningful interactions with professors, 90% of whom hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field. Encouraged, challenged and supported by these engaging faculty, students become involved in experiential learning opportunities that include research, internships and off-campus study.

In addition, the Elizabethtown College Honors Program provides an opportunity for top achievers to enjoy enhanced learning opportunities with faculty scholars. These students are eligible for an academic and professional development stipend to be used for field trips, research, professional affiliations or information technology to support their work.

In support of these academic ventures, Elizabethtown continues to add value to the facilities on campus, providing students with superior classroom and research space as well as access to cutting-edge technology. Open in fall 2006, the James B. Hoover Center for Business is home to the Department of Business, the Family Business Center and the Center for Continuing Education and Distance Learning. The Masters Center for Science, Mathematics and Engineering, which will include the new Lyet Wing for Biological Sciences as well as renovations to Musser and Esbenshade Hall, is scheduled to open in fall 2007.
