The Ashley McMaster ’09 Scholarship will provide scholarships to Elizabethtown College students who qualify for financial aid, with a preference for business majors who maintain a 3.0 GPA. Ashley is a Business Administration Major and wanted to leave a legacy that would allow future students the same educational opportunities she received. “I felt that an Elizabethtown education prepared me for the future. I wanted others to be able to realize their goal of a college education.”
The Masters Center for Science, Mathematics and Engineering was named for its lead benefactor, Frank M. Masters, Jr. H’06, a civil engineer, scientist, mineral collector, innovator and philanthropist. The building has made possible the physical integration of our scientific departments and created a dynamic leaning and teaching environment for professors and students.
Dr. Jane Cavender, professor of biology and director of the biotechnology program, is well-known both for her skills as an instructor and her record as a researcher. Her close connections with her students embody the College’s focus on student-faculty collaborations and her own research on tumor progression was funded by the National Institutes of Health.
“The physical transformation of the campus itself is striking, but the larger possibilities it creates for our students and faculty are perhaps even more significant. Our new facilities enable us to think differently about what we do and how we do it - and more, to aspire to things we have never been able to do.”
