Crisis Counseling

In the event of an emergency involving the College Community that results in a need for emotional/psychological/spiritual counseling, the Director of the Counseling Services will be notified of the need by the Emergency Management Group.

The Emergency Management Group will describe in detail the magnitude and character of that need. The Director will obtain such resources as needed, first from the college community, and then from other resources listed below.

The Rev. Ralph Detrick
Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren

The Rev. Joyce Stoltzfus
Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren

The Rev. Tracy Wenger Sadd
College Chaplain

Sandy Spayd
Health Services

The pastors of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren will act as liaisons between the College Community and ministerial resources. The high school superintendent will coordinate resources from the ranks of guidance counselors as they are needed.

Name badges will be available through Counseling Services and the Emergency Management Group to identify approved counselors on site in the case of an emergency. In general, counseling will be conducted in the Event Space of the Campus Center unless that complex is involved in the emergency. In that event the group will gather and counsel in the Susquehanna Room of the Myer Building.
