Removing Symantec AntiVirus on Mac OS X 

Upon graduation the AntiVirus program (Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition [SAV]), which the College required, may be removed from your computer.


To remove SAV:
  1. Preferred - Uninstaller
    1. At your desktop, double click your Macintosh HD, or  local hard-drive.
    2. Under Places, navigate to your Applications Folder.
    3. Scroll down until you find the folder titled "Symantec Solutions" and double-click it.
    4. Then, double-click on "Symantec Uninstaller".
    5. At the prompt questioning what products you would like to uninstall, check Symantec AntiVirus Corporate, and Norton AntiVirus (which should also automatically select Auto-Protect).
    6. Once all are checked, press the Uninstall button.
    7. When prompted about deleting the software, proceed by clicking Uninstall again.
    8. Mac OS X will ask for an administrator's password.  Verify the username and enter your local machine's account password, if you have one.
    9. Removal of the program will progress, and at the conclusion of the uninstallation, a system log will appear.
    10. Click Close and then press Restart, so your system can finish its required tasks.
