" Studying engineering is a challenge -- no doubt about it.  Engineers, though, undertake great responsibility -- in many ways, we have the ability to change people's lives through our work.  To be an engineer is to solve the problems facing the world and design the means of meeting the needs of society.  This is done in a wide variety of fields and environments, but at the core we are using the tools at our disposal: science, mathematics, computational tools, detailed analyses, design methodologies, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills, to come to the best possible solution to the problem we are facing within the resources available.

At Elizabethtown College Department of Physics and Engineering, we are committed to providing our students with a personalized education within a close-knit, friendly and nurturing environment.  We pledge to challenge our students and welcome the challenges inherent to us from our high expectations.  We are most proud of the "family" environment that develops from the commitment of our faculty, our students, our alumni, and other constituents.

Educate for service – the Elizabethtown College motto is lived out in the lives of our students and graduates.  Our programs are designed around attention to the needs of individual students and a close interaction between students and faculty.  For the specific objectives associated with each major, please click on the major below:
