James L. Haines, associate professor of music
In addition to directing the music therapy program, Haines coordinates the music theory/composition curriculum. He is a composer with a growing reputation, having written several works on commission and received a performance grant from the Minnesota Composer’s Forum. He has written for instrumental and vocal soloists, instrumental chamber groups and large vocal and instrumental ensembles.
Haines was previously the director of music therapy and chair of the music department at the College of Mt. St. Joseph in Cincinnati. He is a member of the Society of Composers and the National Association of Music Therapy.
