Alternative Spring Break Service Trip

In 2009, 24 students and administrators went to Washington DC for a week of service.  The trip focused on issues of hunger, homelessness, and HIV/AIDs. In 2010, we plan on returning to Washington DC for another amazing week.  Applications will be available this fall!

Mission of Trip

The mission of this trip is to provide students with a quality service-learning experience that not only educates them on the topics of hunger, homelessness and HIV/AIDs but will allow them to become more engaged community members on their return to Elizabethtown College.  It is our hope that each student will grow and develop over the course of the trip and when they return they have been challenged and eager to be an agent of change.

Costs of the Trip

We are striving to make the trip affordable for students. Currently the fee is $175.00 which covers lodging, transportation, and food for the week.  Particpants wishing to go out to dinner or buy souveniers must bring their own money for those purchases.  The fee may change depending on the costs of transportation.  We will begin taking applications in the Fall of 2009.
