Winter Break Trip to Houma, Louisiana!
January 9-17, 2010

The chosen destination for the annual college student's trip south was HOUMA, LA. We stayed at Camp Good Earth, a PDA tent city (PODS) with a shower trailer, just as in D'Iberville, and an air-conditioned dining hall/kitchen.  Our work site south Houma was located in the deep bayous, which were affected by a ten foot storm surge from Hurricane IKE last year.
Arrangements were made with Project Homecoming, a PDA program in New Orleans, for a half day tour of the Ninth Ward to inspect the devestation done there. The day ended with dinner in the French Quarter of New Orleans before returning to Houma.
