Amy Mearkle '98

amy mearkle '98Amy Mearkle is the director of marketing and advertising at DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton, Pa. Prior to starting this job, Amy worked in the world of broadcasting.

She started in 1998 at CBS affiliate, WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Va., where she was Associate News Producer/Production Assistant. She later moved to another CBS affiliate, WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pa., where she worked for over 12 years. During that time, she worked as weekend morning news anchor, One Woman Band Bureau Reporter, and morning/noon news anchor.

As a student at Elizabethtown College, Amy was a Communications major with a concentration in Broadcast Media and a minor in Public Administration. Her senior year, Amy was awarded the Raffensperger Award, the highest honor awarded in the Communication's Department.

Outside of work, Amy has found several outlets to become involved in the community. In 2005, she was awarded the Friend in Education Award by the Pennsylvania State of Education Association. She is a committee member and former chair of the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk." Amy also volunteers as Mistress of Ceremonies for several non-profit organizations various fundraising events.
