Why Study History at Elizabethtown

Small classes; right history; no boundaries...

My advice to current and prospective students is to take advantage of every opportunity—travel, intern, accept challenges! As a history major at Elizabethtown, I presented at a Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference and Scholarship Day, studied abroad in Belgium, interned at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Archives, and achieved Honors in the Discipline. My internship, and many discussions with my professors, helped me choose my career path—archival studies. After graduating in 2011, I moved to Boston, MA, where at Simmons College I am working toward a M.A. in History and a M.L.S. in Library Science with a concentration in Archives. E-town’s history courses focused on primary research and critical reading, which amply prepared me for my current studies. I miss wandering through the halls of Wenger for impromptu meetings with Dr. Brown and Dr. Newsome, but distance does not change the fact that I still consider E-town my home.
