In 2011 I graduated from Elizabethtown College with a major in history and a minor in political science. In my history classes, I learned to think critically and developed important analytic skills, establishing a solid foundation for a successful career. I had originally planned to attend law school. However, I decided to pursue a career as a professor because of the intellectual vibrancy of the History Department. I was drawn to history as a forum for debate and an avenue for writing. When I applied to graduate school, my Elizabethtown history professors provided valuable assistance, including critical feedback on my writing sample and advice on universities. I will be entering the doctoral program at Georgia State University to pursue my interest in German cultural and intellectual studies.
