E-town hosts original play March 30, April 1
Senior theatre major performs autobiographical 'Rice'
Written and performed by DJ Littell, an Elizabethtown College senior, "Rice" honestly expounds upon a life filled with missed opportunities that have unusual consequences. The one-man autobiographical play is slated for 8 p.m. Friday, March 30, and Sunday, April 1, in the College's Gibble Auditorium.
The show's title is a symbol for chaos theory, its creator said. "The idea is that something as small as a grain of rice can have large consequences," noted Littell. "I take tiny elements from my past and illustrate how they have had a major impact on who I am today."
The project, part of his senior project as a theatre major, he said, stems from his desire to perform outside his comfort zone. "Because it is autobiographical,"Littell added. "I am forced to be vulnerable onstage in a way that I do not think I have been in the past."
