She works with Admissions to prepare new students for their arrival on campus and makes necessary on-campus preparations. Furthermore, she collaborates with the New Student Orientation staff to provide welcoming activities and information sessions for our new international students. She assists students with transitioning to campus by leading the six-week, International Student Seminar (ISS 101) course introducing students to Elizabethtown College and the surrounding Lancaster County area. She also works closely with Lori Bomboy, the College's Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), who provides assistance with the U.S. visa process and immigration related issues (F-1/I-20, OPT, CPT, STEM OPT). In this role, Megan also oversees the International Leadership Assistants (ILAs) in planning events and excursions to help acclimate new international students academically, culturally and socially to the United States and Etown.
Megan can relate to students from her own time on campus and international travels. She graduated from Elizabethtown College with a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications and a minor in professional writing. During her four years at Etown, Megan swam on the College's swim team. She previously served as the team's Assistant Coach for two seasons. As a student, she studied abroad in Cheltenham, England for a semester in her junior year. While abroad, she traveled throughout England as well as to the Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy and The Netherlands. Since then, she’s had the opportunity to visit Ecuador, Mexico and Canada. She's eager to learn more about the culture of our international students' home countries. At Etown, Megan also serves as the Study Abroad Advisor.
Megan is excited to welcome our international students to the Blue Jay family!
