Message from Ed Lovelidge, Presidential Search Committee Chair:

On February 12, 2018, President Carl Strikwerda announced his retirement from Elizabethtown College, effective June 30, 2019, at the conclusion of his second four-year term.

The search for Elizabethtown College’s 15th president has begun and will be facilitated by the Presidential Search Committee with support from Lucy Leske, Concetta Stewart and Christine Pendleton of the executive search firm Witt/Kieffer. For more than 50 years, Witt/Kieffer has been a leader in higher education executive searches. Ms. Leske, Dr. Stewart and Ms. Pendleton bring a wealth of experience to presidential-level searches including recent presidential/chancellor placements at Bryn Mawr, Goucher and Ithaca Colleges.

Important in this process are also the voices of our students, parents, faculty and staff members, alumni and friends of the College. We invite you to share your opinions and suggestions about the search, offer your thoughts about the qualities that are important in our next president and, if appropriate, nominate candidates for consideration via email at PresidentialSearch@etown.edu or at EtownPres@wittkieffer.com. We also invite you to offer feedback through this brief survey, which will be used to assist us in developing the profile of our next president.

Throughout 2018, we will keep you apprised of the search progress. Look for updates from the Presidential Search Committee, which will be sent via email and posted here on the website. This is an exceptionally exciting time in the life of our College, and I thank you, in advance, for being part of making history at Elizabethtown.
