Health Insurance Information
Elizabethtown College requires all full time students to have Health Insurance coverage. It is recommended that students contact their current insurance company to check and see if Penn State Health Medical Group/Elizabethtown, under the umbrella of Penn State Health, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, is a participating provider for your insurance plan. The office provides healthcare for the students of Elizabethtown College. For more information about participating insurance plans, please call Penn State Health Outpatient Pre-Arrival Services at (717) 531-1300 or you can check this website.
Many Health Insurance plans are accepted, however if your plan is restrictive or doesn't participate with Penn State Health, you may want to consider purchasing supplemental insurance. Elizabethtown College makes available a United Healthcare/Student Resources plan as an option for students.
The United Healthcare/Students Resources health plan has the following features/advantages for students:
- Accepted at Penn State Health Medical Group/Elizabethtown (PSHMG) 2 blocks from campus.
- No deductible when visiting PSHMG. Deductible of $100 when used elsewhere.
- Low copays
- A 3 tiered pharmacy plan
- No facility fee applied for visits at the PSHMG/Elizabethtown Office. Some insurance plans do not cover the $95 facility fee visit charge.
- Staff is familiar with this plan for questions or billing concerns, and can be a resource for students.
