Class of '72 Celebrates 50 Years of Friendship
Etown alumnae Denise Pfeiffer Bedger '72, Holly Rebert Kleimo '72, Sue Lenhart Zigler '72, Karen Weaver Haberern '72, and Janet Wagner Bruder '72 celebrated 50 years of friendship when the group of Blue Jays from “The New Dorm” 2-C East" took a recent trip to Rehoboth, Del.
Barbara Larmon Failing '75
Elementary Education and English alumna Barbara Larmon Failing '75 recently published the middle-grade novel, "ALASKA! Danger on the Mushing Trail (Ages 8-12)." The story follows Josh Parker, an eleven-year-old with a fear of dogs who is visiting his older cousin Brent, a competitive sled dog racer, in Alaska and faces a blizzard that disrupts a training run.

Evelyn Bomgardner Martin '74 celebrated her 50th anniversary of graduating from Elizabethtown College with a degree in Medical Records by proudly displaying her Blue Jay pride with a photo in her new Etown scarf.1980's
David R. Longsderff '80
David R. Longsderff '80 self-published his first book, “Jobs,” in September 2023. A Business Administration major with a Marketing concentration while at Etown, Longsderff completed a 40-year international business career in 2019 to start an insurance brokerage firm in Lancaster. Jobs explores Longsderff’s career path and the lessons he has learned through his various occupations.
Melissa Drummond (Arnold) '88
Melissa Drummond (Arnold) '88 retired in March 2023 after 35 years of public service as a federal worker. Most recently, Drummond served as Chief Human Capital Officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Production and Conservation since 2016 where Drummond's team provided customer service to more than 22,000 employees.

Jayne Chilutti '84
Occupational Therapy alumna Jayne Chilutti '84 was inducted into the 2023 National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Hall of Fame for her decades of volunteer service on a local, national, and international level. Chilutti and her four-member class were recognized at the 2023 Enshrinement Ceremony on April 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Psychology alumnus Andrew Wolanin '97 recently published the book, "The Routledge Handbook of Clinical Sport Psychology," which presents research findings regarding mental health among athletes and other sport professionals, including epidemiological research concerning depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and conduct and interpersonal problems.

Alumna Sidoney Samuels-Buckridge '97 published her book, "Pain To Purpose: My Journey to Redemption," where she shares personal and professional life experiences with readers and explains she overcame setbacks to become a better version of herself.

Dina Kastner (Zarrella) '95 was promoted from Senior Field Organizer to Public Policy and Advocacy Manager at the National Association of Social Workers, where she has worked since 2003. Dina majored in Social Work and minored in French at Etown.

Jennifer Galloway '06 was announced as the chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) during the association’s Annual Meeting on May 5, 2023. As YLD chair, Galloway will serve on the 2023-24 PBA Board of Governors.Matt Lauver '08
Matt Lauver '08 was promoted to Fire Protection Engineering Supervisor for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command at the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia. Lauver is the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all fire protection, life safety, and building code matters for all shore-based facilities at all the Navy bases in the northeast.

Natalie Carter '08, a Social Studies Education alumna, recently received the prestigious Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program award. As a Fulbright recipient, Carter will share knowledge and foster meaningful connections across communities in the United States and abroad. Jason J. Theobald, Esq. '07 was elected as a member of the Portland, Maine-based law firm of Curtis Thaxter LLC. Theobald's practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, property disputes, land use and zoning matters, discrimination claims, and administrative proceedings. He joined the firm in 2019 after practicing law in the Litigation Division of the Office of the Maine Attorney General and serving as a law clerk for the Maine Superior Court and the Maine Business and Consumer Docket. Karen successfully defended her dissertation, "Learning to Navigate the Unknown: The Importance of Critical Reflection and Collaboration for Community College Faculty During a Pandemic" in the spring of 2022.

Ryan Kiscaden '07, M'14 launched an illustrated children's book series in November 2022, aimed at improving perceptions of the skilled technician. The Business Administration alumnus published his first book, "The Water Came To A Stop" in the NEXT UP TRADES series, which celebrates problem-solving and helping others.

Caitlin Wilson '16 completed service in the Peace Corps after 27 months of living and working as an agriculture volunteer in Ghana. During her service, Wilson was assigned to the northern region of Ghana, where she served as an agriculture extension agent for the community. She and a local counterpart worked with a women’s group to grow sweet potatoes and establish a dry season garden to preserve the vines between rainy seasons. Prior to arriving in her community, she received intensive technical and cultural training and language instruction. She is now pursuing a Master of Science at West Virginia University.Eric Guise '05

Most recently, Forry was the chief operating officer for the Hempfield School District, where he served as director of enterprise and operations. Montana Tamny '11 is working for the Uncommon Individual Foundation (UIF). Tamny is part of UIF’s Youth Literacy Mentoring Program (YLM), which helps various schools in Philadelphia read at grade level. UIF is part of a citywide initiative to help Philadelphia students improve their literacy skills. Thomas Conner '72 became a history professor at Hillsdale College in 1983. Connor was chosen as Professor of the Year in 1989, 1999, 2008, and 2016 and in 2012, The Princeton Review ranked him as one of the best 300 professors in the country. The book tells the story of the main character creating the word, “love,” and then searching for its meaning by exploring the world around him. The original essay won first place for grades 1-3 in the school district.
