Globalink Research Internship (Undergraduate Study Abroad)

First Year through Seniors majoring in science, engineering, mathematics, the humanities, and social sciences apply for this 12-week research internship from May to October under the supervision of Canadian university faculty members increasing knowledge of and exploring hands-on research in various fields of study, access to Canada’s unique research landscape: applied, dynamic, and innovative, and connect with potential graduate supervisors if interested in returning to Canada for graduate studies.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) & U.S. Department of State Gilman DAAD Germany Scholarship (Undergraduate Study Abroad & Internship)

First Year through Seniors who receive a Federal Pell Grant who are in the process of applying for, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program in Germany apply for this scholarship to receive a study grant of up to $5,000 to be used toward tuition, housing, travel, and related costs for up to one academic year in Germany.

First Year and Sophomores apply to participate in three-to-four week summer programs to explore the culture, heritage and history of the United Kingdom while experiencing higher education at a British university. The Institutes include an educational residency relevant to the host university's cultural, historical and industrial environment.

Fulbright Canada Killam Fellowships Program (Undergraduate Study Abroad)
All Majors
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors of all majors apply for this fellowship to spend either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada. Students may participate in the program either as a direct exchange student (registering at Elizabethtown College, paying their home fees, and attending the host university as an exchange visitor) or as a self-placed visiting student (registering at the Canadian host university and paying host tuition fees). Killam Fellows attend two enrichment seminars held in Ottawa, ON (Fall) and Washington, D. C. (Spring). Killam Fellows may also apply for Fulbright’s Cultural Awareness Program, which provides funding to travel and explore new places within Canada.

Humanity In Action Fellowship (Undergraduate Internship)

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors of all academic disciplines who are passionate about active and responsible citizenship, and human rights apply for this fellowship which brings together international groups of Fellows to study minority rights and produce original research exploring how and why individuals and societies, past and present, have resisted intolerance and protected democratic values. Separate programs take place for five weeks every summer in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, and Warsaw.

Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation
Social Science & Humanities Majors
Juniors planning to attend public service graduate programs pursuing careers in U. S. federal domestic government or the U. S. foreign service apply for the Truman Scholarship. The scholarship is $30,000.00 going toward up to three years of graduate school in a public service graduate program. Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of public service and write a public policy proposal addressing a particular issue in society and be nominated by Elizabethtown College.

The Sperry Fund Beinecke Scholarship
Humanities & Social Science Majors
Juniors majoring in the arts, humanities, or social sciences apply for this scholarship who demonstrate superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement, and personal promise during their undergraduate career. Candidates must plan to enter a creative- or research-focused master's or doctoral program in the arts, humanities, or social sciences and have a documented history of receiving or being eligible to receive need-based financial aid. Each scholar receives $5,000 immediately prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school. Scholars are expected to use all funding within five years of completing their undergraduate studies.

Astronaut Scholarship
Rising Juniors and Seniors STEM students apply for this scholarship who are heavily involved in graduate level research, leadership in community and on campus, with a commitment and goal to make our world a better place through innovation. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation awards more than 60 scholarships valued up to $15,000 to each selected scholar. Scholarship programming includes an Astronaut Scholar conference, mentorship, professional development, networking, and recognition.

McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University Scholarships

Seniors of all academic disciplines, apply for this scholarship awarding full coverage of tuition and fees for an eligible master’s or professional program at McGill University, over 150+ eligible master’s programs and three professional programs (law, dentistry, medicine), funding the normal duration of the program (1-4 years), but scholars submit renewal requests annually to maintain the scholarship, and 100 other awards ($5,000 to $20,000 CAD), living stipend of $2,000 CAD per month during academic terms, relocation grant and summer funding options, participation in a diverse community of scholars with a leadership development curriculum, mentoring relationships, annual retreat, and other activities designed to help students develop their leadership skills and ability to make a positive impact. The scholarships are granted on the basis of character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.

U.S. Department of Agriculture & Howard University Foreign Agricultural Services Diversity Fellowship Program
Business Majors
Seniors with an interest in public service, agriculture, agricultural economics, business, agribusiness interested in working to promote U. S. exports and food security in embassies and consulates around the world, in addition to the United States, apply for this fellowship supporting two years of graduate school in Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness; two summer internships at FAS Headquarters and at a U. S. Embassy or Consulate overseas; mentoring and professional development; and a pathway into the Foreign Agricultural Service. The fellowship is worth approximately $106,000 over two years for students interested in careers in the FAS Foreign Service, where they will be supporting U.S. agricultural exports and assisting in providing food security in countries around the world.

William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security (Clarke DS) Fellowship
Social Science & Humanities Majors
Seniors apply for fellowship providing academic funding (up to $42,000 annually for two years), two summer practicums, professional development and mentorship. After successful completion of all requirements, fellows receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as a DSS Special Agent. To be eligible, applicants must be seeking admission to a two-year full-time master’s degree program.

Seniors majoring in arts and culture, economic development, education, environmental sustainability, peace, justice, and access to information, public health, sports, and STEM who are called to foster mutual appreciation and cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Asia through immersive work fellowships in host organizations and communities apply for this fellowship covering visa costs, fully subsidized cost of travel medical and emergency evacuation insurance and 24/7 medical and emergency assistance support, and offers grants for travel and language study, basic cost of living include accommodation and round-trip airfare for building a world where individuals share a mutual appreciation and respect for the diversity of cultures and perspectives and cultivates life-long bridges to Asia. The fellowship program offers Fellows a change in perspective, a job which matters and a community for life.

American Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships for Americans in the Nordic Countries

Seniors apply for this fellowship supporting graduate students and academic professionals interested in pursuing research or creative arts projects in the Nordic region (Denmark, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Sámpi). American India Foundation Banyan Impact Fellowship

Seniors apply for this fellowship a fully funded, interdisciplinary experiential learning program placing young and experienced professionals from India and the U. S. in service with communities across India. Through collaboration and capacity-building, fellows and local communities exchange knowledge and skills steering projects advancing social and economic development. Fellows contribute through fieldwork, mentorship, and conferences over the course of the program. The core program runs for 10 months from September 1-July 2. To be successful, candidates must demonstrate leadership for social change, evidence of applicable skills and expertise, commitment to U.S. -India civic engagement and potential for positive impact during and after the program. Key personal qualities of a successful fellow include creativity, resilience, maturity, grit, cultural sensitivity, humility, flexibility, curiosity, and adaptability. Seniors and recently graduated undergraduates who received their diploma no earlier than the December prior to the program apply for this $1,500 stipend, plus room & board, travel, and course materials provided to participate in an intensive two-week Hertog War Studies Program is run by the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, DC. The program aims to educate advanced undergraduate students about the theory, practice, organization, and control of war and military forces. Students will learn from and interact with distinguished senior leaders in the national security and military communities. This course bridges the civil-military divide and teaches students at the start of their careers how to assess military decision-making. War Studies is an interdisciplinary program, and we seek applicants from many disciplines, not just history, political science, or international relations. Successful past participants have also majored in philosophy, math, computer science, engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, literature, foreign languages, political theory, classics, and psychology.

Department of State a Fulbright Grant for Study and Research Abroad to receive additional funding through the National Geographic Society for students incorporating digital storytelling into their Fulbright Open Study/Research Award. Fulbright U.S. Student Program semi-finalists may apply for the Fulbright-National Geographic Award and propose up to $20,000 in additional grant funds from the National Geographic Society to expand research and bring the research project to life and, if selected, the candidate can join the National Geographic Explorer community. The Fulbright-National Geographic Award is seeking proposals for undertaking an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue as an add-on to the candidate’s Fulbright Open Study/Research project. Applicants must have excellent written and spoken English-language skills and completed the current phase of their formal education. Extensive professional experience in a proposed area is not always necessary; fellowships are aimed at developing local knowledge and writing skills, not necessarily awarding research or reporting opportunities to those who already possess them. Candidates with promise, curiosity and enthusiasm considering whether they are ready for the rapid personal growth the fellowship makes possible need to have the necessary language skills for carrying out their proposed projects, at least enough language proficiency for them to be able to function in the local language within a few months of arriving in country.

Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission Marshall Sherfield Fellowship

Graduate students who hold a doctorate in a science or engineering subject, typically in the final year of their Ph.D. at the time of application who have completed their Ph.D. before commencing the fellowship in October of the relevant year, apply for this fellowship enabling American scientists or engineers to undertake post-doctoral research for a period of two academic years at a British university or research institute to introduce American scientists and engineers to the cutting edge of UK science and engineering. It is intended this in turn will build longer-term contacts and international links between the United Kingdom and the United States in key scientific areas. Full living costs, flights to and from the UK, allowances and a £4000 research support grant. In appointing Fellows, the selectors will look for distinction of intellect and character as evidenced both by their scholastic attainments and by their other activities and achievements. Candidates, who will be expected to pursue high level research during their fellowship, should demonstrate an outward-looking disposition, good communications skills and the potential to promote British-American understanding. Preference will be given to candidates who combine high academic ability with the capacity to play an active part in the life of the United Kingdom university or research institute to which they go, and to those who display a potential to make a significant contribution to their own society. Selectors will also look for strong motivation and seriousness of purpose, including the presentation of a specific and realistic research program. As such, candidates will be asked to outline the UK universities or research institutions and departments in which you they are proposing to work if awarded a fellowship and provide details where research proposals have already been agreed with contacts at these universities or institutions. These Fellowships are not available for the study of a higher degree.
